Celebrate our Quiet Man from Vermont

What do we know about Aubrey, our quiet man from Vermont?
He is some one very special
who captured Cara's heart.
He is not a babbling brook, but
a quiet deep gentle stream.
He listens more than speaks.
Observes and reserves opinion.
What he loves speaks who he is.
Nature, animals, music, especially jazz, art, cooking and keeping the home fire burning endear him as Cara's soul-mate and a Cain Clan keeper. Happy Birthday Aubrey! With love from Mom Cain

Visit with the Walkers

Hey Everyone. Sean and I have a few pictures and videos from our tip to Pulaski, VA. We had a great time with Amber, Carl and the kids. We also got to meet their newest addition to the family, Rosie. We had a wonderful time and it was very difficult to leave. Sean and I brought our Wii with us and you get to see the Walkers playing it. Grace was pretty spectacular at bowling and just about beat her Dad. We miss you all. Enjoy!

Happy middle of thirty something, Mike C

“Forever Young Mike C ”

Guess who’s thirty five,
No, it’s no untrue jive
It’s happened just the same
To our guy, Mike C, his name

So what’s changed, some might ask
That might not be an easy task.
He smiles big and hugs us tight,
And admits when Natly’s right.

He still has that Mike style giggle,
Goofs off and makes Jordan wiggle.
Basketball is still his main game,
Ref Mike, his new claim to fame.

He’s a leaner home owner too,
But still a connoisseur of shoes.
His strong arms give helpful service,
Compliments, though, make him nervous.

They say dogs and little kids eyes
detect true character from lies.
Maximus, nieces and nephews
All dub Uncle Mike a hero

It’s not Mike’s age that matters
among us, his Cain Clan chatters.
His happy spirit and big heart
From all others, set him apart.

Karen Cain, mom-in-law

In Memory of Nipper

“Nipper”

The third step is empty now
Our house a little more silent
less her familiar , "meow".

Sixteen years of our family’s life
she shared and endured as a friend
purred through joy, sorrow and strife.

“She likes to talk”, the vet declared
“ must be a little Siamese there”
under her gray fur hat squared

Nip, a feline of expression,
calico patterns on white snow.
Her striped tail tapped emotions.

Beauty robed her warrior valor.
As huntress, she is now legend.
As was her social demeanor.

In portrait and memory she lives.
Nipper, a unique family friend,
taught all what a pet can give,
purred her devotion to the end.
