The Sands of Bethany
Upon the sands of Bethany
our generations come to renew
the heart and soul of family,
and belief, dreams do come true.
Upon the sands of Bethany
tread our feet in many stages,
pushing through hot adversities,
to relief from waters of ages.
Upon the sands of Bethany
we sit upon Mother’s broad knees,
ponder mysteries and majesty,
eternal horizon of Life’s sea.
Upon the sands of Bethany
we close our eyes, inhale the breath
of life again, renew our story,
retune our spirits to Truth’s depths.
Upon the sands of Bethany
We trade shells pitted with doubt and fear,
for those smoothed by God’s charity
to strengthen our paths another year.
